The Washington Thoracic Society is a professional and scientific society for respiratory and critical care medicine which prevents and fights respiratory disease through research, education, patient care and advocacy.
The Organization
The Washington Thoracic Society is a professional and scientific society for respiratory and critical care medicine which prevents and fights respiratory disease through research, education, patient care and advocacy. The long range goal of the Society is to decrease morbidity and mortality from respiratory disorders and life threatening acute illnesses. In keeping with these goals, the Washington Thoracic Society serves as the medical section of the American Lung Association® of Washington and is a recognized chapter of the American Thoracic Society.
Objectives
The objectives of the Washington Thoracic Society are:
To be a scientific society, committed to the highest professional and scientific standards, and dedicated to the collection, interpretation, and dissemination of scientific information concerning all aspects of respiratory disease.
To participate actively with medical societies and with other official and non-official organizations interested in the purposes of the Society.
To encourage and support professional and technical education and all aspects of research in the field of respiratory disease.
To be the medical section of the American Lung Association® of Washington and to act in an advisory capacity to the executive officers and the Board of Directors of the Association in matters related to the purposes of the Society.
