Welcome and thank you for your interest in the Asthma Management In Educational Settings (AMES) guidelines. The AMES is a one of a kind document that was developed in 2001 by the Public Health and Advocacy committee of the Washington Asthma Initiative. It was updated in 2004 by the Community Based Activities Committee. The Purpose of "AMES: Asthma Management in Educational Settings" is to provide all members of the school staff with guidelines for the care of students who have asthma. This guide will: Provide an overview of asthma and it's management to aid in educating school personel about the disease.
