Asthma Management Plan

Asthma is manageable. Asthma can hinder performance if it is not managed. Children miss school and after school activities, parents miss work and frequent trips to the doctor's office or hospital occur.

Effective asthma managment begins with American Lung Association® of Washington's My Asthma Plan (English Version) (PDF) or Mi Plano de Asma (Spanish Version) (PDF) that you fill out and follow with the help of your health care provider. The American Lung Association® of Washington also has an interactive version of the My Asthma Plan (Clinician's Interactive English Version) (PDF), enabling you to enter patient information directly from your computer.

What do I do with a plan? Fill it out and post it in your house, your car, with your day care provider and your relatives. Make sure you go over the plan with everyone who spends time with you or the person/child who has asthma.
