The American Lung Association® of Washington offers current and informative literature on COPD. If you reside in Washington state, call us at 800-LUNG-USA.

These resources are intended for Washington state residents. However, no matter where you live in the United States, including Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, you can obtain information in your area by calling your local American Lung Association® at 800-LUNG-USA.

The American Lung Association® of Washington co-sponsors many lung support groups called Better Breathers Clubs educational support groups in the state.

EFFORTS (Emphysema Foundation For Our Right To Survive) is perhaps the largest internet advocacy COPD patient group in existence at this time. Formed, funded and operated solely by patients with COPD. Membership is free. All contributions are tax-deductible. Be an informed patient. Learn that living with COPD, while a change in lifestyle, is not a death sentence. EFFORTS provides a very vital support mailing list and educational resource for its members. EFFORTS is also working to educate and inform patients and care providers as well as promote deeper research for more effective treatment and hopefully a cure for Emphysema and other Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease.
