Tobacco Cessation Resource Center Offer Resources to Health Care Providers
The Tobacco Cessation Resource Center (TCRC) recently launched a tobacco cessation website designed to offer resources to health care providers.
The website was developed in response to resource requests from Health Care Providers from around the state. Through the website, TCRC hopes to make both new and existing electronic resources more widely available to providers, to help providers more readily access materials for their clinics/organizations, and to allow providers to request additional assistance, as needed.
The main topics addressed on the Health Care Provider website are:
· Health Care Provider Tools and Resources (includes the following sections: How to Help Your Patients/Clients Who Use Tobacco, How to Select Pharmacotherapy/Nicotine Replacement, How to Get Reimbursed for Tobacco Cessation Work, Resources for your Organization/Agency, and Resources by Provider Specialty).
· Tobacco Cessation Online Training for Health Care Providers (includes the following trainings: Self-Directed WA State Tobacco Quit Line PowerPoint Training).
· The Washington State Tobacco Quit Line (includes the following sections: How the Quit Line Works, The WA State Fax Referral Program, Sample Materials, and Evidence for Phone Based Counseling).
· Online CME/CEU Courses About Tobacco (includes the following sections: General Tobacco, Brief Intervention, Pharmacotherapy, Organizational/Systems Work, Reimbursement/Payment, and Special Populations).
· Request Technical Assistance
· Order Tobacco Cessation and/or Quit Line materials (includes instructions on how to order free materials from the State Department of Printing, including Quit Line cards and brochures).
